fairy ring is a natural phenomenon that occur when a circle of mushrooms begin to grow. a thin web of branch-like mycelium bubble under the surface. in folklore, fairies are said to sit on the mushrooms and use them as dinnertables, dance around the fairy ring, or as one welch woman claims, "use them as parasols and umbrellas". this is a piece inside of that circle.
