Anna Ignatowicz-Gliñska was born in Warsaw, Poland. She studied composition at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, from which she graduated in 1996. She also studied piano improvisation with Szabolcs Esztenyi. She also took a course in Computer Music. In addition to composing music she is a teacher and writer. Her main compositions are instrumental, frequently using unusual combinations of instruments (pieces for two marimbas, for soprano saxophone and clavichord, for harpsichord and organ), and especially percussion (Concerto breve, for percussion and symphony orchestra; It is only time, for trumpet, percussion and tape; Thus ...
